Event: The Change of Command ceremony for chief of army staff

The Change of Command ceremony for chief of army staff took place on Tuesday morning at GHQ in Rawalpindi, where General Qamar Javed Bajwa assumed command of Pakistan Army.
According to media reports, all educational institutions on Mall Road and surrounding areas have been closed due to security concerns. Mobile phone services also remain suspended.

The Day of Ashura is on the tenth day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar and marks a very important day as martyrdom of Hussain Ibn Ali is observed. Government ban mobile services to avoid any act of violence and terrorism in the country.

Event: Defense day

Defense day is a public holiday that is celebrated as national day to commemorate in the memory of Pakistan's successful defense against India that marked the ceasefire in the 1965 war on 6 September. To mark the celebrations, mobile phone services with-in 10 KM radius of GHQ to remain offline for now, that will include some parts of Islamabad as well.

Independence Day is celebrated on 14th August. In order to maintaining security situation for Flag hoisting Ceremony on Independence Day, government suspended mobile services in more than 40 cities.

Mobile phone service are still down in Islamabad and Rawalpindy from 28 March, 2016 .PTA, operators aren’t sharing the list of areas where service is shut down due to security reasons. They are strongly advised to not to share timeline and location of areas where service is put offline.
Mobile services of Mobilink, Warid and Telenor are not working in E11, F11 and G11, While Ufone and Zong aare still functional.

Full mobile signals at D-Chowk

While mobile phone services have been suspended across the city to hinder communication between the supporters of Mumtaz Qadri, who are staging a sit-in at D-Chowk, according to a report in Dawn newspaper, the only place in the federal capital where there is full cellular reception is D-Chowk.

Mobile phone services remain suspended

Residents of the federal capital faced hardship as mobile phone service remained suspended throughout the second consecutive day.
The service was not restored when this report was filed at 10:30pm. Mobile services of ufone and zong were functional in E11 and G11.

Mobile phone service in selected parts of Islamabad/Rawalpindi is being shut down in intervals on directions from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. PTA has said that such service closure instructions are forwarded to operators as received from Interior Ministry based on security situation in the capital.
